Senior Civil Engineer Land Development Digital Engineering
Designing practical infrastructure. Improving how engineering gets delivered.
I help deliver consent-ready civil infrastructure across New Zealand—from site assessment and concept development through detailed design, approvals, construction review and close-out.
Experience, education & service
A practical foundation. An expanding field of responsibility.
Switch between professional work, formal education and volunteer leadership to explore the full journey.
Three connected portfolios
Technical depth. Leadership in action. Ideas made useful.
My portfolio is organised around three areas that reinforce one another: civil engineering, community leadership and practical digital innovation.
Professional portfolio
Civil Engineering
Land development, earthworks, roading, three waters, approvals, construction review and technical leadership.Leadership & service
Community
NNZWFS, Engineering New Zealand Waikato and Nepal Gardens—built around connection, service and long-term impact.Apps & systems
Innovation Lab
Engineering calculators, AI workflows, QA systems, websites, applications, dashboards and automation prototypes.Civil engineering
Integrated civil design from first site question to close-out.
I combine field understanding, technical analysis and practical delivery across the full land-development and civil-infrastructure lifecycle.
My experience spans site assessment, earthworks and grading, road and access design, stormwater, wastewater and water supply, council approvals, construction administration, monitoring and certification.
I work within New Zealand’s regulatory environment and coordinate with clients, councils, asset owners, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to make designs consent-ready, buildable and clear.

How I work
A consistent method for complex engineering decisions.
Understand the site and decision
Confirm the outcome, available information, governing standards, stakeholders and consequences of the decision.
Build from reliable data
Test survey information, levels, existing services and field evidence before relying on a model or drawing.
Integrate the disciplines
Coordinate earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities, retaining, boundaries, approvals and construction sequencing.
Test assumptions and options
Use calculations and digital models to support judgement, investigate anomalies and compare practical alternatives.
Design for delivery
Consider safety, constructability, maintainability, QA and whole-of-life performance throughout design.
Communicate and learn
Explain decisions clearly and use construction feedback, testing and close-out lessons to improve future work.
Quality & digital engineering
Capable people supported by reliable systems.
Alongside project delivery, I contribute to design checklists, technical-review records, calculation spreadsheets, pump-station and water-impact templates, contract documents, 12d/CAD standards, Synergy workflows and responsible AI guidance.
Digital tools should strengthen—not bypass— engineering judgement, review and accountability.
Community & volunteer leadership
Building structures that help people participate and succeed.
My volunteer work connects culture, professional development, youth, community wellbeing and long-term place-making.
I currently serve as President of the Nepal New Zealand Waikato Friendship Society, Vice Chair of Engineering New Zealand’s Waikato Branch and Design Lead for the Nepal Gardens New Zealand Trust.

Innovation Lab
Useful digital tools built inside this website.
I learn by building—starting with a recurring problem, then turning it into a clearer workflow, calculation, application or reusable system.
The lab below includes launchable tools hosted within this website. Each tool opens in a new tab and can later evolve into a full engineering or business application without becoming a separate project repository.
The first prototypes are deliberately lightweight and transparent. They can be expanded with databases, authentication, APIs, reports and secure AI integration as the portfolio develops.

About me
Engineering judgement. Continuous improvement.
I am a Senior Civil Engineer with experience across the full land-development and civil-infrastructure lifecycle.
My career began in field surveying, construction set-out, site investigation and practical data collection. That foundation taught me how design information translates into levels, tolerances, sequencing and real site constraints.
I progressed into infrastructure assessment, civil design, earthworks and grading, road and access design, three-waters servicing, approvals, construction administration, monitoring and certification.
Beyond project delivery, I contribute to engineering quality systems, digital workflows and responsible AI adoption. I am working toward Chartered Professional Engineer registration while continuing to develop technical, leadership and professional capability.
